What Happened
Geely Galaxy celebrated the completion of its one millionth Xingyuan compact electric car off the assembly line, achieving seven-figure cumulative output approximately 2 years following the nameplate's original launch on October 9, 2024. In export jurisdictions, the compact hatchback is marketed under the Geely EX2 designation.
The model registered rapid industrial acceleration over its production lifecycle, achieving 200,000 units in May 2025, 600,000 units in March 2026, and 800,000 units in August 2026. For calendar year 2025, domestic retail deliveries totaled 465,775 units, representing the top individual passenger vehicle volume in the country.
Through the initial nine months of 2026, Chinese retail deliveries reached 310,391 units, supported by a September recovery to 44,275 units that increased 11.66% from August. To maintain retail momentum against city car competitors, Geely revised entry-level pricing to 61,800 yuan ($9,200) earlier in the year.
Why this matters
The Xingyuan represents one of the fastest vehicle volume escalations in Chinese manufacturing history, securing nationwide retail records throughout 2025. Surpassing seven-figure output highlights Geely's assembly capability in compact battery-electric passenger cars even as broader domestic demand stabilizes.
