What Happened
Mahindra released its first teaser on Tuesday for the BE 6 Sporteq, a new range-topping version of the BE 6 electric SUV, with the full reveal expected at the company's Independence Day event on 15 August.
The change is almost entirely inside. The Sporteq gets a redesigned dashboard carrying three 12.3-inch screens for instruments and infotainment, an arrangement that debuted on the XEV 9e and now also appears in the XEV 9S and the XUV 7XO. The rest of the BE 6 range keeps its existing two-screen dashboard.
The teaser also shows new tan upholstery on the seats and across the dashboard. No mechanical changes are expected, so the Sporteq should carry over the BE 6's existing powertrain and battery choices unaltered.
Why this matters
Nothing mechanical changes, which makes this a trim exercise rather than a new car: Mahindra is charging more for a dashboard it has already engineered for the XEV 9e, XUV 7XO and XEV 9S. Reusing one screen assembly across four nameplates is the quiet advantage of a shared electric architecture, and reserving it for the top trim keeps a reason to trade up.
