What Happened
MAHLE Lifecycle and Mobility, the spare parts and services division of Stuttgart-based automotive supplier MAHLE, is building an integrated ecosystem that connects vehicle parts, shop equipment, technical expertise, and diagnostics to help independent repair shops become digital service centers. At its core is the new MAHLE Workshop Portal, a cloud-based platform bundling technical information, training, repair solutions, and personalized support. The company will premiere the portal, along with other new products and services, under the motto 'Your Growth. Our Expertise.' at Automechanika Frankfurt in Hall 9 from September 8 to 12, 2026.
“The workshop of the future is evolving from a repair shop into a service center for connected, electrified, and increasingly software-controlled mobility. MAHLE is actively shaping this transformation. By consistently evolving MAHLE Lifecycle and Mobility from a parts supplier to a solutions provider, we are laying the groundwork for independent repair shops to continue playing a strong and indepe”

MAHLE Battery Workshop Support lets repair shops evaluate high-voltage batteries quickly using an innovative diagnostic test that communicates with the battery via the Controller Area Network (CAN) interface within minutes, whether the battery is installed or removed. It identifies faults, assesses battery condition, and recommends whether to repair, replace, or send the battery to a specialized center. On request, MAHLE assists with battery removal, transport, and documentation, reducing workloads and giving workshops access to specialized expertise and external infrastructure.

Partnering with Rohde & Schwarz, MAHLE now enables standardized testing of radar sensors after repairs for the first time, combining the MAHLE TechPRO Digital ADAS 2.0 calibration system with Rohde & Schwarz's high-precision RadEsT radar tester. Repair shops can verify radar functionality using realistic traffic scenarios, with measurable, documentable, and reproducible results; existing TechPRO systems can be retrofitted. In sustainability, the new CareMetix Natural cabin air filter uses sheep's wool to reduce carbon footprint while filtering particles and pollutants, reducing volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and limiting materials that contribute to microplastics. MAHLE also continues expanding its electrification portfolio, which since 2025 has included power electronics components such as on-board chargers and input filters from its own original equipment manufacturing facilities, and it plans to grow the EV aftermarket portfolio from 1,000 to more than 2,000 products by 2030.

Why this matters
Independent repair shops face electric and software-defined vehicles that need new skills and equipment. MAHLE's ecosystem offers AI-guided diagnostics, high-voltage battery repair guidance, mobile service, and standardized radar testing, helping workshops stay competitive while MAHLE expands its EV parts portfolio to over 2,000 products by 2030. This supports workshops, their customers, and fleet operators who rely on professional repair networks.
