What Happened
The reveal centres on the exterior for now: a squared-off body with full-width LED lighting front and rear, vertical LED strips, chunky cladding and a more rugged XRT variant with its own bumpers and skid plate. Hyundai describes the look as a three-dimensional take on strength and tension in steel.

- A large tablet-style touchscreen expected to run Hyundai's Pleos software
- A D-cut steering wheel in two tones carrying the brand's pixel motif
- Rear doors that swing open to 83 degrees for easier access
- A panoramic sunroof, 360-degree cameras and a driver-assistance suite
Hyundai has not confirmed engines yet. The version last sold in India paired a 156hp 2.0-litre petrol with a 186hp 2.0-litre diesel, while overseas markets also get plug-in and full-hybrid options that could feature this time.
Why this matters
The Tucson is one of Hyundai's most important global SUVs and was pulled from India in late 2025. A ground-up redesign sets the stage for its eventual return and reshapes the brand's mid-size SUV pitch worldwide.
