MAN brings new eTGX electric truck with up to 720 km range to IAA Transportation 2026

MAN Truck & Bus is presenting its truck and van portfolio of 3.5 to 250 tonnes at IAA Transportation 2026, held from 14 to 20 September 2026 in Hannover under the motto 'Driving. People. Partner.' The stand is complemented by a comprehensive ecosystem around electric mobility, charging and energy supply, which MAN says shows how the transformation of the transport sector can be made successful and profitable. New this year are test drives that start directly next to the MAN stand in Hall 11.

The central highlight on the stand is the new MAN eTGX, which gains improved aerodynamics, higher recuperation and a new battery generation with ten percent more usable energy. As a 4x2 tractor unit its range rises to up to 660 kilometres, while the new 6x2 tractor variant with a seventh battery makes up to 720 kilometres possible at up to 25 tonnes of gross combination payload. Battery weight stays low: the 4x2 tractor unit weighs 10.7 tonnes empty and offers up to 25 tonnes of payload with a standard trailer, comparable with that of a diesel tractor unit. The new design also gives the driver better direct visibility, which MAN says means more safety for other road users, especially in city traffic.

With the eTGL, eTGM, eTGS and eTGX model series, MAN will offer a continuous electric truck portfolio from 12 to 50 tonnes, shown in full for the first time at IAA Transportation 2026 and covering nearly the entire application spectrum from urban distribution logistics through municipal applications and construction site traffic to long-haul transport. All series use battery technology developed by MAN specifically for commercial vehicles, described as particularly efficient and modular, offering the right configuration for every transport task. Since the end of July, MAN has been producing the first eTGX and eTGS trucks with megawatt charging technology (MCS), which have since been delivered to customers step by step; the extremely fast charging standard recharges the batteries from 20 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes, within the driver's statutory break. MAN is showing how fast and efficient MCS charging works daily at the IAA together with charging infrastructure partner Milence in Hall 14/15.

MAN also stresses efficiency in conventional drivetrains: the D30 PowerLion powertrain allows fuel savings of up to five percent versus its predecessor and, together with MAN's entire diesel engine portfolio, ranks among the most efficient solutions on the market. A further conventional highlight is a new 60-tonne truck based on the TGS 8x4, which MAN says is ideally suited to mining operations worldwide thanks to its high robustness and payload. For all truck series, MAN is presenting numerous assistance and safety updates at the IAA, including the predictive EfficientCruise cruise control, which integrates traffic infrastructure more intelligently, and the active interplay of FrontDetection, turn assist and emergency braking assist for better protection of vulnerable road users in front of and beside the vehicle at low speeds. The new eTGX also gets comfort features such as wireless smartphone charging, EasyControl operating elements on the passenger door, a powerful 230-volt socket and a mechanical night lock for extra protection during rest periods. In the van segment, two near-production innovation vehicles, MAN TGE electrified by Flux, were developed with Swiss engineering partner Flux and use an installed battery with 119 kWh gross capacity for ranges of up to 480 kilometres under WLTP, serving uses such as rescue services, fire brigades and municipal operators; the TGE also marks ten years since its world premiere in Hannover, with new MAN Individual equipment lines Lion X and Individual Black, free Lifetime Connectivity since September and the new MAN TGE Connect App.
