What Happened
On May 20, NIO published its 2025 ESG Report, covering six dimensions: innovation & circularity, quality & co-creation, users & community, environment & nature, inclusive and shared prosperity, and compliance & governance. The report highlights progress in low-carbon transformation, including a comprehensive carbon accounting system verified by an independent third party.

NIO aims to reduce per-vehicle carbon emissions by 43% compared to 2023 levels.

NIO's factories achieved a 26% year-on-year reduction in total energy consumption intensity.
The report also notes NIO's Circular Car Lab recovered over 1,100 end-of-life vehicles and recycled nearly 500 tonnes of aluminum. In safety, NIO's General Objects Warning and Assist (GOA) improved accident-avoidance capability by 290%, and seven models earned five-star Euro NCAP ratings. Additionally, NIO launched its AGI Committee and the industry-first Emergency Roadside Pull-Over function.
