“With the launch of the new Start trim, we are now offering Opel Astra customers an even more attractive deal. Depending on the powertrain variant, they can save up to €1,900 while owning a car 'made in Germany' that is already extensively equipped. In this way, we are making individual mobility even more accessible to everyone, regardless of their preferred powertrain – and at the same time significantly more affordable than many of our competitors do.”
Following the Opel Frontera and Opel Combo, the Rüsselsheim-based manufacturer is gradually introducing the new Start trim across its model line-up to offer attractive entry-level versions with good value for money. Higher trim levels are being further enhanced with specific features and are now more clearly distinguished from one another. The Astra Start can also be fitted with an optional Start Comfort Pack, which includes Solar Protect heat-shielding glazing, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, a centre armrest and, on the Sports Tourer, roof rails.

Why this matters
The Astra is a core compact model for Opel, so a lower entry price makes the brand's cars reachable for more buyers in Germany. Opel is pitching the new Start trim as exceptional value for money, including against competitors, and plans to roll the nameplate out across more of its line-up — which could affect how rival compact cars are priced.
