Schaeffler AG and Spire Global have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop satellite subsystems and platforms, combining Schaeffler's precision engineering with Spire's satellite expertise to create a European space infrastructure standard.
The collaboration initially focuses on securing and scaling supply chains for critical satellite subsystems, and exploring industrialization of satellite buses for independent constellation programs. Schaeffler will lead precision manufacturing scaling; Spire will contribute platform architecture, onboard software, and operational know-how.
