What Happened
Tesla's Full Self-Driving driver-assistance feature has been cleared for Slovenian roads, the company said, and Slovenia becomes the sixth country in Europe to permit it. Tesla says the local rollout will begin soon. The approval lands while Tesla pushes for a wider green light across the bloc. According to the automaker, an EU-wide vote on FSD could be held as soon as Oct. 6, after it released a dataset it produced itself and gathered across Europe and North America.
Reuters reports the approval, attributing the news to the U.S. automaker and noting that Slovenia is Europe's sixth country to clear the system.
Regulators provisionally allow the software on Dutch roads, the first EU country to permit FSD.
Tesla says an EU-wide approval vote could be held as soon as this date.
“The recognition of the temporary type approval for the FSD (Supervised) system is a concrete example of how new technologies can be gradually integrated into the transport system under appropriate regulatory and safety oversight.”
Slovenia's Traffic Safety Agency confirmed the authorization in an email to Reuters. The agency said the country wants to keep the door open to new technology, while stressing that any such systems must be introduced safely. Tesla's software can steer a vehicle, but the person behind the wheel must stay alert. Dutch regulators gave provisional approval for public roads in early April, making the Netherlands the first EU nation to allow FSD.

Slovenia joins the list as Tesla waits on a possible bloc-wide vote.
Why this matters
Approvals granted country by country let Tesla's driver-assistance feature reach European owners before any bloc-wide decision is made. The Slovenian regulator's emphasis on safety oversight shows the technology is being admitted gradually, and the timing matters because an EU-wide vote that Tesla has said could come as soon as Oct. 6 would set the rules for drivers across the union.
