Volkswagen Group also launched its own pulse inverter using silicon carbide, which will be used in the Electric Urban Car Family (ID. Polo, Škoda Epiq, CUPRA Raval). The in-house inverter promises faster development, cost reductions, and independent production. The APP290 motor for this family offers power from 85 kW to 166 kW using 400V technology.
Why this matters
This milestone shows Volkswagen's growing scale in electric drivetrain production, making EVs more efficient and accessible for mass-market models like the ID. family.
