What Happened

ZF, a global leader in hydraulic and electro-hydraulic braking, today announced five new product adaptations for off-highway vehicles including construction, mining, and agriculture. The new offerings follow a design philosophy called EASE—Excellent, Adaptable, Safe, Efficient—aimed at simplifying system design and improving functionality. The technologies span mechanical, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, and electronic interfaces, providing scalable solutions that can be used independently or as part of an integrated braking system.

New Product Developments
  • New Pedal Modulating Valve family for precise brake control
  • Pressure Limiting Electro-Hydraulic Brake Valve for controlled pressure management
  • Hydraulic In-line Brake Adjuster with patented features for long-term stability
  • Electronic Brake Pedal with analog or PWM output for tailored pedal response
  • Solutions designed for integration with conventional, electro-hydraulic, and autonomous platforms
Each product is designed around EASE, Excellent, Adaptable, Safe and Efficient. Our engineering teams develop solutions that provide an ease of operation for drivers, ease of integration for engineers and ease of installation for manufacturing and service.
Tom Chambers, Head of Off-Highway Braking, ZF Industrial Division

The products are in various stages of release and customer validation. Additional details on specifications, availability, and application support will be communicated throughout the year.

Why this matters

These new products help vehicle manufacturers add advanced braking features while reducing complexity, enabling a smoother transition to electrified and autonomous construction and agricultural machines.

Terms in This Story

Off-highway vehicles
Vehicles used in construction, mining, and agriculture, typically not driven on public roads.
Electro-hydraulic braking
A braking system that combines electronic control with hydraulic actuation for precise pressure management.
PWM output
Pulse-Width Modulation output, a method for controlling analog signals digitally to vary pedal response.
Functional safety
A set of standards ensuring electronic systems operate safely during faults, common in automotive and industrial applications.
