Busscar delivers El Buss 340 coach to Expresso Norte Viagens in Marabá

Busscar has delivered one El Buss 340 coach to Expresso Norte Viagens, an operator based in Marabá in the state of Pará. The acquisition is the company's first purchase of a new vehicle from the brand and comes alongside its investments in upgrading its fleet. The versatile model was specified to meet different charter demands, with applications in corporate transport, transfers and tourism.

For the climate in Pará, the El Buss 340 has air conditioning, an anti-pollen filter and air renewal, plus two sunroofs. In the cab, forced aeration and the climate-control system add comfort for the driver during the working day. A restroom with an odourisation system, a smoke detector and an emergency button that triggers sound and visual alerts in the cab supports passengers on longer trips. At the end of the aisle, a cabinet with a refrigeration system and a 52-litre fridge offers further support to the operation. Inside the saloon, a display shows the time and whether the restroom is occupied, and LED lighting runs along the aisle and under the seats.

Driving and operational safety features include a rear parking sensor with an audible alert, a reverse alarm and a telemetry system. The door-locking system prevents the bus from setting off with the doors open and stops them opening while the vehicle is moving, while split mirrors with a defogger improve visibility on the road. For accessibility, the coach carries a wheelchair lift and two reserved seats with tactile identification and three-point retractable seat belts, and priority seats have a call system with sound and visual signalling next to the driver. Other equipment includes a front LED electronic destination sign, a cabinet for electronic equipment, storage compartments and a document holder in the cab, all mounted on a Mercedes-Benz OF-1726 chassis.
