What Happened
The Dutch company Egala has taken over 175 vehicles from Mercedes-Benz Trucks. The order is split between 155 Mercedes-Benz Actros 1845 LS semitrailer tractors and 20 battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 trucks. Daimler Truck describes Egala as an outsourcing partner for transportation and logistics companies, and says the investment expands Egala's European fleet while also putting money into CO2e-free transportation.
- 175 vehicles in total from Mercedes-Benz Trucks
- 155 Actros 1845 LS semitrailer tractors
- 20 battery-electric eActros 600 trucks
- All equipped with the aerodynamically designed ProCabin
- All meeting the requirements of VECTO Class 3
“An order of this magnitude demonstrates the strong confidence Egala has in our products and services. For us, this collaboration extends far beyond the delivery of 175 trucks. With our vehicles, digital services and Europe-wide service organization, we support Egala in maintaining high fleet availability.”
“This is more than an investment in our fleet. We are investing in a partnership with companies that, like us, think ahead and take a long-term approach. Reliability and continuity are key.”
All 175 trucks come with the aerodynamically designed ProCabin in the spacious GigaSpace and StreamSpace versions. Equipment includes the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 and an extensive range of assistance systems, among them Active Brake Assist 6 Plus and Sideguard Assist 2 for greater safety when turning. Mercedes-Benz notes that driver assistance systems can only support drivers, and that responsibility for safe vehicle operation always remains fully with the driver.
Egala provides its customers with vehicles and drivers and supports them with additional operational services, which makes a reliable and efficiently deployable fleet a key foundation of its business model. To keep availability high, Egala has concluded an international repair and maintenance contract for its new trucks. Mercedes-Benz Uptime continuously monitors the technical condition of the vehicles so maintenance and potential repairs can be planned as proactively as possible and unplanned downtime reduced. Fleetboard supports day-to-day fleet management, with vehicle data and analyses including driving behavior and vehicle use providing insights that can help cut fuel consumption and raise operational efficiency.
Previously from Daimler Truck AG
Earlier in October 2026, Daimler Truck reported that its third-quarter unit sales rose 26% to 91,260 vehicles even as battery-electric truck and bus deliveries fell 28%. The eActros 600 model in Egala's order had already been in the public eye that month, when Daimler Truck sent one on a southern German tour delivering beer to Oktoberfest in Munich and then to the Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart, marking 130 years of trucks.

Why this matters
For a company whose business is supplying vehicles and drivers to logistics customers, a reliable and efficiently deployable fleet is the foundation of the model, so a single 175-truck order is a significant commitment. The 20 battery-electric eActros 600 in the mix show a fleet operator adding electric trucks alongside conventional long-haul tractors, a choice that affects the drivers who operate them and the service network that keeps them running.
