Falcon Buses launches first independent fleet of next-generation Alexander Dennis Enviro200EV electric buses in Surrey

Falcon Buses has unveiled 13 next-generation Alexander Dennis Enviro200EV single-deckers, becoming the first independent operator to put the zero-emission buses into service in Surrey.

What Happened

Falcon Buses, an ALBUM member, presented its fleet of 13 next-generation Enviro200EV single-deckers at Brooklands Museum in Weybridge. The electric buses will operate on route 436 from Weybridge to Woking and route 461 between Kingston, Weybridge, Addlestone and St Peter's Hospital. The purchase was supported by UK Government funding obtained by Surrey County Council in partnership with Falcon Buses.

We chose the next-generation Enviro200EV for our first electric buses after attending Alexander Dennis’s track days event at Millbrook. We were looking at our initial steps for going zero-emission with support of Surrey County Council at the time, and I just loved the product, especially the futuristic looks and the new styling.
Richard Telling, Managing Director, Falcon Buses
Today we are celebrating Falcon as the first independent customer for the next-generation Enviro200EV. This is a significant statement of confidence in the product, in electric bus technology, and in the role that independent operators will play in delivering cleaner, quieter and more efficient public transport.
Mark Taylor, Regional Sales Manager, Alexander Dennis
Bus features
  • Part-leather seats
  • USB charging points at every seat
  • Wood-effect flooring
  • Colour-coordinated handrails
  • Full air-conditioning for drivers and passengers
  • Efficient heat pump system supporting batteries and driveline

Charging infrastructure at Falcon Buses’ depot in West Byfleet was delivered by VEV. The solution includes a dedicated 1,500kVA power supply, six 60kW chargers, and three 120kW chargers. A second phase of infrastructure is already planned to support Falcon’s long-term electrification plans.

This project is about more than installing chargers. It’s about giving operators the confidence that they have the power, charging capability and future capacity needed to transition to zero-emission transport without compromising reliability.
Barry Keane, Senior Account Manager, VEV

Why this matters

This launch marks a milestone for independent bus operators adopting zero-emission technology, supported by UK government funding. Passengers on routes in Surrey will experience quieter, cleaner journeys with amenities like USB charging and air conditioning. The depot's charging infrastructure, with capacity for future expansion, demonstrates how smaller operators can electrify fleets.
