What Happened
FAW Group announced on April 23 that its Hongqi brand aims to have operations in over 100 countries with 1,000 sales and service outlets within five years. The company will establish five overseas hub clusters in Southeast Asia, Europe, and Latin America, along with localized low-carbon R&D centers and supply chain operations.
FAW expects to achieve an annual overseas production capacity exceeding 200,000 vehicles and create over 20,000 new jobs across upstream and downstream sectors. Hongqi will leverage its three technology platforms—Tiangong electric, Honghu hybrid, and Jiuzhang intelligent—to launch more than 20 new models worldwide.
