What Happened
The Hongqi EH7, a new energy model from China FAW Group, has obtained the EU-Whole Vehicle Type Approval (EU-WVTA) from Luxembourg's Société Nationale de Certification et d'Homologation (SNCH). This certification confirms that the vehicle meets the latest EU mandatory entry regulations, allowing exports to EU member states and other regions that accept EU-WVTA. The process took just two and a half months, supported by TÜV Rheinland.
FAW Group, established in 1953 and China's largest automotive group with annual sales exceeding three million units, views this certification as a foundation for Hongqi's European market entry. The company plans to continue cooperation with TÜV Rheinland in areas such as regulatory research, testing, and quality management.
