What Happened
At the 2025 C-V2X 'Four-Cross' Shanghai Pilot, FAW Hongqi's vehicle-road-cloud integration prototype, based on the Hongqi EH7, was a central attraction. The vehicle, equipped with a self-developed V2X coordination warning system, passed full-chain tests covering chip modules, terminals, automakers, and security platforms. It demonstrated strong communication stability and data processing under high-speed and complex conditions.
Live demonstrations included Cooperative Automatic Emergency Braking (C-AEB) and Front Cross-Traffic Alert (FCTA). Attendees from Denso, Qualcomm, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, and Huawei test-rode the vehicle, experiencing the 'Traffic Light to Vehicle' function. In open-road tests, the system completed over 10 rounds of verification for red-light running warnings and green-wave speed guidance with precise performance. During closed-site testing, the C-AEB function successfully handled a forward collision cut-out scenario per CNCAP 2024 standards, using V2X for beyond-line-of-sight perception to apply precise braking even with obstructed views.
- C-AEB (Cooperative Automatic Emergency Braking)
- FCTA (Front Cross-Traffic Alert)
- Traffic Light to Vehicle
- Red-light running warning
- Green-wave speed guidance
Why this matters
The successful tests show that V2X technology can enhance driving safety by enabling vehicles to communicate with infrastructure, even when visibility is blocked.
