What Happened
Hyundai E&C announced a strategic MOU with ITOCHU Corporation to jointly pursue hydrogen production and supply initiatives. ITOCHU will oversee project development and investments, while Hyundai E&C will handle engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC). The project aims to enable clean hydrogen production and contribute to a hydrogen society.
The collaboration leverages Hyundai E&C's hydrogen plant construction capabilities and ITOCHU's global expertise in raw material supply, including having ordered the world's first ammonia bunkering vessel. This synergy is expected to produce significant future synergies. Hyundai E&C also held relay meetings with Mitsui & Co. and JGC to explore cooperation in nuclear power, offshore wind, data centers, LNG, oil and gas, and post-war reconstruction.
