Škoda Peaq seven-seater EV sets 936 km range record without recharging

A production Škoda Peaq 90 covered 936 km without recharging, beating its certified 647 km WLTP range by 289 km in a record-setting run.

What Happened

Škoda says a production Peaq 90 has set a seven-seat EV range record, covering 936 km without recharging. The journey started at the company’s Mladá Boleslav headquarters, passed through Germany and ended in Zandvoort, Netherlands, beating the model’s certified 647 km WLTP range by 289 km. The Peaq is the largest and most spacious SUV in Škoda’s portfolio and is built at its main plant in Mladá Boleslav.

The aim was to demonstrate what the technology can achieve when pushed to its limits. To maximise the range, we selected the most suitable route and, of course, adapted our driving style accordingly.

In everyday use, customers are unlikely to drive the car this way. Instead, they will take advantage of everything the Peaq has to offer in terms of driving dynamics, onboard infotainment and comfort.

The 936 km route
  1. Midday, Tuesday 25 August

Departed Škoda headquarters in Mladá Boleslav.

  2. Overnight into Wednesday

Drove through Germany, with breaks to change drivers, rest and eat.

  3. Wednesday afternoon

Reached Zandvoort in the Netherlands and completed the run without recharging.

Peaq 90 details
  • 91 kWh traction battery (86 kWh net), 210 kW output and rear-wheel drive
  • 19-inch wheels with standard low-rolling-resistance tyres
  • Drag coefficient of 0.249
  • Brand-first features: flush door handles, panoramic roof with Dynamic Shade Control and bidirectional charging
  • More than 10,000 customer orders received to date

Why this matters

The Peaq is Škoda’s new flagship with more than 10,000 orders, and this record demonstrates the production seven-seat model can beat its official 647 km WLTP range by almost 45% under efficient conditions. The drivers point out that everyday owners are unlikely to drive so conservatively and will instead use the car’s dynamics, infotainment and comfort. For customers with orders already placed, the run is a strong real-world reference for how far the Peaq 90 can go between charges.

Terms in This Story

WLTP
Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure — a standardised test used to measure vehicle energy consumption and electric range.
kWh
Kilowatt-hour, a unit of electrical energy used to describe battery capacity and charging or consumption rates.
Bidirectional charging
Technology that lets an electric vehicle send power from its battery back to a home, the grid, or another vehicle, rather than only taking a charge.
Drag coefficient
A measure of a vehicle’s aerodynamic slipperiness; a lower value means less wind resistance and better efficiency.
