Lotus Launches Emira 420 Sport and 900 Gold EVs in China
Lotus has introduced three performance models for Chinese buyers, spanning a combustion sports car and two high-output electric vehicles in sedan and SUV form.

What Happened
Lotus launched three models in China on August 31. The Emira 420 Sport is priced from 988,000 yuan and is scheduled to begin deliveries in October, while the Emeya 900 Gold starts at 918,000 yuan and the Eletre 900 Gold at 928,000 yuan.
The Emira 420 Sport uses a mid-mounted AMG 2.0-liter turbocharged engine rated at 420 horsepower and 500 N·m, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Lotus lists a 300-kilometer-per-hour top speed and a 3.9-second zero-to-100-kilometer-per-hour time.
The electric Emeya 900 Gold uses dual motors and a 102-kWh CATL NCM battery. It produces 918 horsepower, offers 530 kilometers of CLTC range, and can add 180 kilometers in five minutes through its 420-kilowatt charging system.
The Eletre 900 Gold also produces 918 horsepower, but uses a 112-kWh CATL battery for a stated 560-kilometer CLTC range. Both electric models include active aerodynamics, carbon-fiber components, and high-voltage fast charging as part of the launch specification.
Why this matters
The China launch gives Lotus a fresh top-end lineup at a time when the brand is balancing high-performance electric vehicles with its remaining combustion sports-car business. The two 900 Gold EVs also make rapid charging and high-output hardware standard rather than optional equipment.
