What Happened
Mack Trucks introduced CommandView, a fully integrated situational awareness system that reduces blind spots and improves maneuverability. The system includes a 360-degree camera view, angled side cameras, and onboard weighing. It will be available for order in the Mack Granite model in late 2027.
“Mack customers told us about the many challenges they face when on a jobsite, whether they’re blind spot issues or just maneuvering around other vehicles and objects.”
- 360-degree camera system with composite bird’s-eye view
- Angled side-view cameras activated by turn signals
- Onboard weighing system for real-time load data
- Event-based video recording stored in the cloud
The system also includes auditory and visual warnings for close-range object detection, and integrates with vehicle controls to adjust camera perspectives. CommandView aims to lower accident-related costs and improve total cost of ownership for vocational fleets.
