What Happened
Mahindra introduced the BE 6 SPORTEQ on 15 August 2026, calling it the next evolution of its electric origin SUV. The series is offered in 12 colour options including four new shades (Rosso Impulso, Ruby Velvet, Graphite Storm and Firestorm Orange Satin) across eight variants: ONE, TWO, THREE, THREE+, FOUR, FE, FE FOUR and Launch Edition. From TWO upwards, variants get a three-screen coast-to-coast display, while the Formula E Freedom Edition retains the original two-screen, halo-design cockpit and adds Acceleration Boost for 0-100 km/h in 6.44 seconds. The Freedom Edition draws on Mahindra Racing's Formula E success—victories in Monaco and Tokyo and four pole positions for Edoardo Mortara—and will be showcased at the London E-Prix with the Freedom livery. The launch also includes the top-spec Launch Edition in Graphite Storm/Racing Tan trim and the 'Pulse Goes Rogue' campaign.
BE 6 SPORTEQ ex-showroom prices start at ₹11.45 lakh for the ONE variant with a 59 kWh battery under Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), where the battery is rented at ₹3.75 per km (assuming 60 km/day usage). Without BaaS, the ONE is ₹19.45 and the TWO is ₹20.95 with the 59 kWh battery. In the 70 kWh group, the THREE costs ₹22.95 and the THREE+ ₹23.95. In the 79 kWh group, the THREE+ is ₹24.95, the FOUR, Launch Edition and FE FOUR are each ₹26.95, and the FE is ₹24.45. Prices exclude the wall charger and its installation.

“At Mahindra, design goes beyond styling. It encompasses not just how a product looks or feels but how customers experience it in all its aspects. This is especially true of a software-defined vehicle like the BE 6 SPORTEQ whose design ensures that every surface, every display and every interaction contribute to how the car makes you feel. With SPORTEQ, we wanted the cabin to deliver the same sense”
“The BE 6 has always stood for bold design, sporty character and the courage to do things differently. SPORTEQ builds on that foundation, combining performance-inspired experiences with intelligent technology to create the next chapter of the BE 6 story. It is about making advanced technology and everyday excitement accessible to more customers than ever before.”
Why this matters
The BE 6 SPORTEQ lowers the upfront cost of an electric SUV through Battery-as-a-Service, renting the battery at ₹3.75 per km. Existing Mahindra electric SUV owners will get the new software features via OTA updates starting January 2027, showing how a software-defined vehicle can improve after purchase. The series also marks Mahindra as the first Indian OEM to offer a CCC-compliant Digital Car Key across multiple device ecosystems.
