MAN signs €1.2B MoU with Poland to expand Krakow plant and start e-truck production

MAN Truck & Bus will invest around €1.2 billion in its Krakow plant through the next decade, doubling production area and launching production of the eTGL electric light truck.

Total investment

€1.2 billion

Production area expansion

from 130,000 m² to 270,000 m²

Electric truck range

12 to 50 tons

What Happened

MAN Truck & Bus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Polish government for investments of around €1.2 billion in its Krakow plant, extending well into the next decade. The agreement is part of the company's MAN2030+ program, which outlines investments for the next vehicle generation within its European production network.

Investment plan

€1.2 billionEUR

To be invested through the next decade; production area to double from 130,000 m² to 270,000 m².

We are further expanding our presence in Europe with the investments in Poland. Krakow has played an important role in our production network for years. With the expansion to a full plant and the series start of our electric light truck series, we are well positioned in the transformation of the industry and ready for the future.
Alexander Vlaskamp, CEO of MAN Truck & Bus

The expansion includes building body shop and paint shop facilities, as well as extending cab assembly. New production halls for painted cabs will be constructed, increasing total production area from 130,000 m² to 270,000 m². This will deepen the value creation at the site and prepare for the next vehicle generation based on the TRATON Modular System.

The start of the MAN eTGL is another important milestone on the road to emission-free mobility. It's about much more than just the truck: it's about an innovative product and a reliable service offering that optimally supports our customers in the transformation.
Michael Kobriger, MAN Board Member for Production and Logistics

Parallel to the factory expansion, MAN will start full production of the all-electric MAN eTGL at Krakow in mid-July 2026, followed later in 2026 by the medium-duty MAN eTGM. Krakow becomes the second electrified truck production site after Munich, which builds the heavy eTGX and eTGS. MAN now offers a complete electric truck portfolio from 12 to 50 tons for all common transport applications.

Previously from MAN Truck & Bus

Earlier in July 2026, MAN reported an 8% increase in H1 sales to 51,000 vehicles, with EV sales surging 37% to 1,100 units, indicating growing demand for electric trucks.

Why this matters

This investment signals MAN's commitment to expanding European production and transitioning to electric trucks. For buyers, it means more electric truck options from 12 to 50 tons. For the Krakow region, it brings job growth and economic development.
