What Happened

MAN Truck & Bus has resumed CKD (Completely Knocked Down) production in Algeria at the Blida plant in partnership with longtime local partner Maghreb Truck Company (MTC), which has represented MAN since 2003. The facility features two assembly lines capable of producing both truck and bus chassis, with a current focus on MAN TGS series models in 4x2, 6x4, and 8x4 configurations for long-haul transport. MAN aims to deliver around 1,500 vehicles annually to the Algerian market in the medium term.

MTC maintained the assembly plant even during the production hiatus, preserving more than 20 years of collaboration. The plant has a daily capacity of up to eight vehicles and offers high flexibility to adapt to market demand. MAN has provided technical training to local staff to ensure global quality standards, reinforcing its historical position as the first European commercial vehicle manufacturer to import CKD kits to Algeria.

The restart of CKD production in Algeria together with our partner Maghreb Truck Company is an important step to further strengthen our international presence. By combining our global expertise with strong local partnerships, we bring our products closer to our customers and respond even more flexibly to local requirements.
