What Happened
The MAN eTGX 20.449 4x2 (330 kW/449 PS), painted in the company's signature pink, runs daily between Manner's two production sites in Vienna and Wolkersdorf, Austria. It carries key raw materials like nougat and chocolate paste, taking advantage of predictable charging cycles and high efficiency on the planned route. The truck also operates on routes outside the factory network as the company tests further expansion.

“With our new eTruck, we bring sustainability visibly onto the road. It stands not only for technological innovation but also for our clear commitment to taking responsibility along the entire value chain.”
The eTruck is powered predominantly by electricity from renewable sources, including green grid power and Manner's own photovoltaic system at the Wolkersdorf site. Funding has been approved for a second electric semi-tractor and a 7.5-tonne truck to supply Manner's flagship store in Vienna, as the company expands its zero-emission fleet.
Why this matters
This real-world use of an electric heavy truck shows that emission-free logistics is already practical and economical for intra-city routes, reducing CO2 and noise pollution.
