What Happened

Maserati will take part in the 44th edition of the 1000 Miglia, a regularity race for historic cars, from June 9 to 13. The brand will feature a 1953 Maserati A6 GCS/53, which competed in five consecutive editions of the original speed race from 1953 to 1957. The car, chassis no. 2043, will be driven by owner Igor Zanisi and his daughter Lara, paying tribute to Maria Teresa de Filippis, the first woman to qualify for a Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The A6 GCS/53 is currently undergoing Certification of Authenticity by Maserati Classiche and will be supported by the brand's heritage program. Alongside it, four current models will serve as support cars: GranTurismo, GranTurismo Trofeo, GranCabrio, and GranCabrio Trofeo. These will feature exclusive liveries inspired by historic Maserati models such as the Tipo 26, A6 1500, 250F, and 3500 GT.

Support cars from current range
  • GranTurismo
  • GranTurismo Trofeo
  • GranCabrio
  • GranCabrio Trofeo

The event will also include a passage through Modena, Maserati's hometown, on June 10. The participation is part of the Year of the Trident celebrations, marking 100 years since Maserati's first racing victory in 1926.

Why this matters

The rally showcases Maserati's racing heritage and its modern lineup, while honoring racing pioneer Maria Teresa de Filippis on her centenary.
