Motor Coach Industries (MCI), a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., announced the graduation of Joel Aguirre, a Technical Solutions Manager, from its MCI Academy Master Technician program. Aguirre, who has been with MCI since 2008 and brings over 18 years of experience, is now certified as an expert in all aspects of MCI motor coach systems and support. He provides aftermarket technical support across the full MCI product line, including legacy and obsolete models.
“I have a genuine passion for learning and expanding my knowledge. This program not only strengthened my own skills but also allows me to better support our customers and help them succeed both in the shop and out in the field.”
The Master Technician program combines hands-on training in Louisville, Kentucky, with online coursework covering essential coach systems such as maintenance, electrical, and HVAC, and typically takes several years to complete. Aguirre completed the program in just under three years, finishing 11 in-person courses, including Tech 2 and Tech 3 certifications, HVAC, and electrical training, as well as more than 130 self-paced online courses across various technical areas.
