What Happened
McLaren Automotive has confirmed that final orders for the McLaren 750S are now being taken, bringing the curtain down on a supercar platform it calls one of the most iconic and successful of its generation. The 750S sits at the core of the McLaren supercar line-up and will retire from production in 2027, a decade on from the introduction of its 720S predecessor. Alongside the 720S, the 765LT and the newly revealed 788HS, it completes a decade at the pinnacle of lightweight V8 performance and expressive personalisation. Through McLaren Special Operations (MSO), 750S clients can still tailor their cars to their own specification using the division's bespoke personalisation services.
The 720S marked the introduction of a new generation of lightweight, V8-powered McLaren supercars with innovative design, engineering and aerodynamic principles, and set in motion a lineage that became a multiple award-winner on the road and a race winner on track in international GT racing and the World Endurance Championship. The 750S was introduced in 2023 after what McLaren describes as meticulous analysis of the attributes of the 720S. Significant updates saw 30 percent of its components new or changed, making it more powerful, lighter and quicker than the 720S, with new technologies and an updated, more driver-focused environment.
