Terms in This Story
- Axial-flux motor
- An electric motor where the electromagnetic flux runs parallel to the rotation axis, allowing a compact disc-shaped design with high power density.
- Stator
- The stationary part of an electric motor that generates a magnetic field to interact with the rotor.
- Rotor
- The rotating part of an electric motor that produces torque from the magnetic field.
- Radial-flux motor
- A conventional electric motor where the electromagnetic flux runs perpendicular to the rotation axis.
