What Happened
Daimler Truck and Girteka are further expanding their cooperation. At IAA Transportation in Hanover, the two companies reached an agreement for the delivery of 900 new Mercedes-Benz Actros L ProCabin trucks, which are scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2027 and will further contribute to the modernization of Girteka's fleet. In 2026, Girteka had already integrated 500 Mercedes-Benz Actros L ProCabin trucks into its fleet. With around 6,500 trucks of its own, Girteka is one of the largest privately owned transportation companies in Europe.

“With the Actros L ProCabin, we provide our customers with a truck that sets new standards in efficiency, safety, and driver comfort for long-haul transportation. I would like to thank Girteka for the continued trust they place in Mercedes-Benz Trucks. Their decision to add another 900 vehicles to their fleet goes far beyond a significant order. It is a strong endorsement of our long-standing partnership and our shared ambition to make long-haul transport more efficient, safer, and more sustainable for the future. This agreement also highlights the critical role that innovative vehicle technology, reliable service, and a strong sales and support network play in helping large fleets succeed and grow.”
“Our cooperation with Mercedes-Benz Trucks goes back many years, and this agreement is another important step in that partnership. Working with leading manufacturers allows us to continuously introduce newer technologies into our fleet, improve the working environment for our drivers and maintain the level of reliability our customers expect from us. For temperature-controlled and high-value cargo, this consistency is especially important.”
The newly designed Actros L ProCabin has been consistently engineered with a focus on aerodynamics and efficiency in long-haul transport. An 80 mm longer front end, optimized transitions and aerodynamically refined body components improve airflow and can support the economical operation of large fleets. For a fleet the size of Girteka's, the company says continuous fleet renewal is a key lever for promoting high levels of reliability, safety, efficiency and service standards in operations across Europe over the long term.
- Active Brake Assist combines radar and camera data, can detect vehicles driving ahead, stationary vehicles and crossing vehicles, and within system limits can automatically apply full braking down to a standstill
- Active Sideguard Assist 2 monitors the areas alongside the vehicle, can warn of objects approaching from the side, and when turning can independently initiate automated braking on the co-driver's side if necessary
- Predictive Powertrain Control uses topographical data and route information to support anticipatory and efficient driving
- Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 with a high-resolution 12-inch instrument display, an optimized touchscreen and voice control for numerous functions
Previously from Daimler Truck AG
Our recent coverage has followed activity around IAA Transportation in Hanover, the same event where this truck order was agreed: on September 20, 2026, truck driver and content creator Tobias Wagner set off from the show aiming to become the first to circle the globe in a battery-electric long-haul truck.

Why this matters
The order deepens a long-running supply relationship and shows how a large European haulier keeps its fleet current, a lever the companies link to reliability, safety, efficiency and service standards. It matters to Girteka's drivers and customers, and to Mercedes-Benz Trucks as a signal of confidence in its long-haul model.
