Michelin has developed a digital twin for tires that leverages real-time data from existing vehicle sensors to model key tire variables. The system uses advanced algorithms to provide unprecedented visibility into tire condition, enabling predictive maintenance and interaction with vehicle systems to optimize performance and safety.

The digital twin offers several solutions: MICHELIN SmartWear for tire wear monitoring and end-of-life prediction, MICHELIN SmartLeak for early leak detection and pressure monitoring, SmartLoad for load estimation, SmartGrip for grip and hydroplaning detection, and rolling resistance estimation. These solutions are brand-agnostic and do not require dedicated tire sensors.
