What Happened
MODENAS joined the opening round of the 2026 Malaysian Cub Prix Championship in Tangkak, Johor, supporting its partner teams in the Pro-Am category. The company will back these teams across the full eight-round season, using the home-grown Modenas Z15GT platform. The appearance follows an earlier announcement during the MODENAS Riang Raya 2026 celebration.
“This is more than just a racing programme. The Modenas Z15GT super moped was fully designed by Malaysians. Therefore, participation in the Malaysian Cub Prix allows us a unique opportunity to demonstrate and test its performance in demanding, real-world racing conditions. This will help us accelerate improvements and refinements based on direct usage and feedback.”
Beyond the track, the Tangkak round featured a community-led convoy under the Lokal Lagi Syok banner, fostering ownership culture. MODENAS views the racing program as a strategic testbed for engineering insights, contributing to enhancements in durability, handling, and reliability. CEO Roslan Roskan emphasized that rider community feedback shapes product improvements. The company also sees opportunities for regional expansion.
Why this matters
The racing program allows MODENAS to gather performance data from competitive conditions to refine its Z15GT moped, while deepening community engagement and laying groundwork for regional expansion.
