New eCollect electric refuse vehicle joins Adur and Worthing Councils' fleet

Adur and Worthing Councils have taken delivery of a new Dennis Eagle eCollect electric refuse collection vehicle to support sustainability targets and trial EV capabilities.

What Happened

Adur and Worthing Councils have taken delivery of a Dennis Eagle eCollect, an electric refuse collection vehicle, along with eight additional RCVs. The vehicles feature safety enhancements and can run on hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO). The eCollect will be trialled to evaluate electric vehicle performance in the councils' waste collection operations.

We're looking forward to seeing what the eCollect is capable of. While our infrastructure isn't quite ready to go fully electric yet, we're excited to be making important steps towards a more sustainable solution for our refuse collections and driving real change within the community.
