What Happened
BMW M Motorsport teams closed the 2026 season with a run of championship wins. The headline result came at the Indianapolis 8 Hour, the season finale of both the GT World Challenge America and the Intercontinental GT Challenge, where the Turner Motorsport #29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO started from pole, finished third overall and won the Pro Cup class. That was enough to give BMW M works drivers Robby Foley and Connor De Phillippi and their team-mate Justin Rothberg the GT World Challenge America title, the third in a row for Foley and Rothberg after two Pro-Am crowns. The same weekend brought BMW overall and Speed Trophy titles in the NLS and a Sprint crown in the Italian GT Championship at Monza.
“These are the weeks of decision in the 2026 motorsport year. Every weekend is about earning the well-deserved reward for an intense season. This time, Turner Motorsport achieved perfection at the Indianapolis 8 Hour with an overall race podium, a class victory, and the title win in the GT World Challenge America.”
At Road Atlanta, Austin Krainz and Stevan McAleer finish third on the GS podium in the AutoTechnic Racing #27 BMW M4 GT4 EVO to secure the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge title.
Turner Motorsport's #29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO takes pole, third overall and the Pro Cup class win at the Indianapolis 8 Hour, delivering the GT World Challenge America title.
Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhattan Wheels wins the overall NLS title and Schubert Motorsport takes the NLS Speed Trophy at the Nürburgring season finale.
Jens Klingmann is crowned Italian GT Sprint champion at Monza; BMW drivers also wrap up GT4 America and Italian GT4 titles.
- GT World Challenge America: Robby Foley and Justin Rothberg (Turner Motorsport, #29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO)
- NLS overall: Sven Markert, Jannik Fübrich and Edoardo Bugane (Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhattan Wheels)
- NLS Speed Trophy: Tim Tramnitz and Jordan Pepper (Schubert Motorsport)
- Italian GT Sprint: Jens Klingmann (BMW Italia Ceccato Racing)
- GT4 America Pro-Am: Sam Craven and Kenton Koch (Random Vandals Racing)
- IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge GS: Austin Krainz and Stevan McAleer (AutoTechnic Racing)
The NLS title went to Sven Markert, Jannik Fübrich and Edoardo Bugane of Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhattan Wheels, who started the four-hour finale with a four-point lead and clinched the overall crown with a controlled class win in the #650 BMW M240i Racing. It was the eleventh overall victory in a row for a BMW M Motorsport team on the Nordschleife, a streak that began in 2016, and a return to the top for Adrenalin after a one-year break, its eighth title in nine years. Schubert Motorsport's Tim Tramnitz and Jordan Pepper finished third in the #77 BMW M4 GT3 EVO to seal the NLS Speed Trophy, with team boss Torsten Schubert praising an extensive test programme with tyre partner Yokohama and the BMW M3 Touring 24H project. Alexandru Vasilescu took the Gentleman Trophy and SP10 class titles with the AV Racing by BLACK FALCON #177 BMW M4 GT4 EVO, Gamota Racing locked out the front row in qualifying before finishing sixth and 13th, and BMW teams collected seven class victories in total.
At Monza, Klingmann and BMW M works driver colleague Ugo de Wilde shared the #7 BMW M4 GT3 EVO for BMW Italia Ceccato Racing, finishing tenth in the Pro category in the first race so that everything depended on Sunday's finale, which began with a multi-car crash in the first chicane. Klingmann's title rivals Georgi Dimitrov and Simone Riccitelli led in their Lamborghini after an early pit stop, but Klingmann's seventh place in the Pro class was enough: the rivals ended level on points and level on wins, and Klingmann took the crown thanks to one more second place. In Saturday's race, Charles Weerts and Mathias Villadsen finished second overall in the Team Spirit Racing #23 car, while Anthony McIntosh and Parker Thompson won the Pro-Am class in the BMW Italia Ceccato Racing #8 car before a Sunday retirement ended their title hopes. In the other M News results, Sam Craven and Kenton Koch took the GT4 America Pro-Am title at Indianapolis while Michael Garcia and Alex Garcia won the Am class and Joseph and Lucas Catania finished third, and Craig Lumsden had already secured the GT America championship before taking second on the GT4 podium at the same circuit. At Monza, Andrea Palazzo and Aiva Anagnostiadis won the first Italian GT4 race from Sebastian Gavazza and Luca Esposito as Giacomo Maman and Gustavo Sandrucci were confirmed as Pro-Am champions, Brian Lee and Maxime Oosten took a Silver-Am win and a third place in Beijing with GTO with KRC, and Courtney Crone added two GSX podiums at Road Atlanta in the VP Challenge.
“It was an extremely exciting weekend, and in the end, the result is what counts. We've taken our third title in five years, which makes us very proud for BMW M Motorsport, Ceccato Racing, and ourselves as drivers.”

BMW's DTM campaign concluded at Hockenheim, where Marco Wittmann finished third in the 2026 standings. Wittmann added a Saturday podium at the finale but fell short of a third title, with Porsche's Thomas Preining taking the crown.

Why this matters
The results are the payoff for the independent customer teams and drivers who race BMW's M4 GT3 EVO, M4 GT4 EVO and M240i Racing cars in championships in the USA, Germany, Italy and Asia. They also show how BMW's 2026 season turned on title-deciding finales, including near-misses at Hockenheim.
