What Happened
The delivery schedule was initiated during a formal ceremony in Bengaluru on September 4, 2026. The contract incorporates between 70 and 80 coaches specified with factory-built restroom facilities intended for extended interstate routes.
Assembled at the VE Commercial Vehicles facility in Hoskote, Karnataka, each 9600 sleeper coach provides 40 passenger berths and 8.5 cubic metres of luggage volume. Output is supplied by an 8-litre Volvo D8K diesel engine generating 260 kW (350 HP) alongside 1350 Nm of peak torque.
