What Happened
The 12,728 non-refundable reservations were placed through VinFast's online platform and dealership network across Vietnam. Orders were evenly distributed across the Northern, Central, and Southern regions, averaging about 1.1 deposits per minute.
Early buyers received incentives worth VND 51 million, including a 10% discount or installment financing at 5% fixed interest for three years. Owners also get free charging at V-Green stations until February 10, 2029.
“Securing 12,728 orders within just 8 days of opening sales is an unprecedented record for a premium D-segment SUV in VinFast’s history. This achievement confirms that the valuable enhancements and upgrades implemented in the next-generation VF 8 have truly resonated with our customers' needs and expectations.”
The next-generation VF 8 features a new technology platform that reduces weight by up to 600 kg, improving energy efficiency. It offers a driving range of nearly 500 km (NEDC) and can charge from 10% to 70% in under 30 minutes.
Why this matters
The record orders show strong consumer demand for VinFast's upgraded electric SUV, signaling the company's growing traction in its home market as it transitions to a pure-EV maker.
