What Happened
Volvo has updated the international XC60 and XC90 plug-in hybrids with batteries more than twice the size of before. The two SUVs now use 41.2kWh packs and also receive a refreshed infotainment interface.
The XC60 is rated for up to 200km of electric travel and combines its engine and motors for 461hp and 759Nm. The XC90 is rated for 162km and 461hp with 751Nm; the XC60 also gets revised exterior lighting, bumpers, grille and wheels.
Why this matters
The larger packs make Volvo’s premium SUVs more practical as everyday electric vehicles while preserving a combustion engine for longer journeys.
