Xiaomi chief executive Lei Jun confirmed that the automotive unit reached 800,000 total customer handovers roughly 29 months after initial deliveries commenced on April 3, 2024. The maker previously logged 700,000 units on July 30, 2026, progressing to its latest milestone in approximately one month.
Volume expansion is driven by the YU7, a mid-to-large pure battery electric SUV in the 250,000-yuan price range that has recorded over 150,000 sales in the six months following its debut. Meanwhile, the founding SU7 sedan crossed 500,000 handovers on August 17, achieving that volume in 28.5 months from launch.
During 2026, production climbed past 39,000 units in January and stayed above 20,000 in February and March, followed by five consecutive months exceeding 30,000 units through August. In support of Lei Jun's stated 2026 goal of 550,000 handovers, official archive documentation for the second production phase in Beijing Yizhuang achieved regulatory acceptance, completing an essential prerequisite for site commissioning.
