What Happened

XPENG Motors announced that its VLA 2.0 intelligent driving system has begun public road testing on a robotaxi, with trial operations scheduled for later this year. Global deliveries of VLA 2.0 are planned for 2027, and Volkswagen will be the first customer for the system in China. VLA 2.0 integrates perception, reasoning, and action into a single AI foundation model, reducing dependence on HD maps and rule-based systems.
