What Happened
Alberto Forato of Fantic Factory Racing MXGP finished third overall at round 2 of the Internazionali d’Italia in Mantova, securing second place in the championship standings. This was his second race on the Fantic XXF 450 after returning from a knee injury.
“A great start to the season with a podium at the Internazionali d’Italia! We couldn’t really have expected this result, considering that I am coming back from injury, and the bike is still pretty new to me. But consistency and hard work have paid off, and I am really happy. We are only at the beginning, but I already feel good with my Fantic and with the new team. Now it’s back to work, and we hop”
In the 125 class, Fantic Factory Racing EMX rider Gennaro Utech finished fourth in the championship, one point shy of third place. Team-mate Bertram Thorius ended eighth overall, with both riders expressing confidence ahead of the EMX125 Championship.
Why this matters
The podium marks a strong return for Forato after a knee injury and signals Fantic's competitiveness ahead of the MXGP World Championship.
