What Happened
Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., announced it has handed over an Enviro400 double-decker to its new customer Beaver Bus, based in Leicestershire, England. It is the first brand-new vehicle the operator has ever bought, joining a fleet of almost 15 vehicles that are all Alexander-bodied. The bus was bought to upgrade the Beaver Bus fleet and will be used on existing school routes, where its 85 belted seats give it plenty of capacity for school work.

Capacity for Beaver Bus's existing school routes
- A family-owned company
- Carries out a range of local bus work, school contracts and shuttle services in the South Leicestershire area
- Specialises in dedicated school bus services
- Prides itself on running a clean, attractive and well-maintained fleet
- Has a purpose-built workshop and MOT centre in Leicester, with a DVSA inspection area and testing facility
“It's a pleasure to take delivery of our first brand new bus: a major milestone for our business. The Enviro400 is a lovely vehicle and we're sure it'll go down well with passengers and drivers alike. We are proud to be in a position to modernise our fleet.”
“Congratulations to the team at Beaver Bus on their first brand new vehicle, and a big thank you for choosing Alexander Dennis to mark this milestone. It's great to see the striking Beaver Bus branding applied to a brand new Enviro400 double-decker. We're looking forward to seeing how it performs in service, and we're sure that Beaver Bus's customers will love it.”
The new Enviro400 is the most significant of several recent investments made by Beaver Bus. Those investments include a new drive-through wash that will serve the company's own buses as well as other commercial fleets. Previously from Alexander Dennis
Alexander Dennis said on 22 September 2026 that it would show its next-generation Enviro400 double-decker at Euro Bus Expo 2026. The same announcement said it would bring its next-generation Enviro200EV to the show, a bus around two tonnes lighter than similar buses.

Why this matters
The handover is a milestone for family-owned Beaver Bus, which runs school contracts in South Leicestershire and until now has only built up a fleet of used, Alexander-bodied vehicles. The 85-seat double-decker adds capacity on its existing school routes, and gives Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., a new customer.
