What Happened
Ariel Motor Company has unveiled the Atom 4RR, designed to celebrate 25 years of the Atom. It is circuit-optimised yet road-legal, featuring a bespoke, hand-built 2.0-litre turbocharged Honda engine producing 525bhp and 550Nm of torque, revving to 8,200rpm. The car accelerates from 0-62mph in 2.4 seconds and 0-100mph in 5.1 seconds, with a power-to-weight ratio of over 780bhp per tonne.

It is the fastest and most powerful Atom to date, yet it stays true to our founding principles of lightweight, minimalism, and delivering very Serious Fun.”
The engine is built over 100 hours, with closed deck sleeves, forged pistons, revised cylinder head, bespoke camshafts, and a race-spec oiling system. A larger turbocharger peaks at 1.7 bar boost, and three cockpit-adjustable engine maps provide power outputs of 400bhp, 500bhp, and 525bhp. Power is delivered via a Quaife six-speed sequential gearbox with pneumatic paddle shift.
