At Automechanika 2026, Bosch shows shops AI diagnostics, ADAS calibration, and a PreZero recycling tie-up

Bosch is using Automechanika 2026 to reposition itself as the partner for repair shops in a fast-changing mobility world, with AI diagnostics, easier ADAS calibration, and a new circular-economy collaboration.

What Happened

At Automechanika 2026, Bosch is presenting its aftermarket portfolio under the theme “Master the job every day.” The company says it combines original equipment expertise, vehicle diagnostics, spare parts, workshop equipment, training, and digital services into an integrated systems approach. According to Bosch, this relieves the daily burden on shops by simplifying processes and supports their sustainable economic success.

Mobility is changing rapidly. Our ambition is to accompany repair shops as partners on this journey – not with individual products, but with an intelligently connected, integrated system that helps them work successfully today and leverage the opportunities of tomorrow's mobility.
Rupert Hoellbacher, Chairman of the Bosch Mobility Aftermarket divisional board

The new generation of ESI[tronic] diagnostic software uses an integrated artificial intelligence assistant. The assistant analyzes diagnostic data, accesses repair instructions and original documents from vehicle manufacturers, and suggests solutions, so technicians can reach a correct diagnosis faster. Bosch also introduced SOVAL technology (Sensor Validation) for the DAS 3000 calibration system. With SOVAL, technicians complete a tablet-guided walk around the vehicle, and the system automatically detects the vehicle's position, reference points, and step-by-step calibration needs – allowing faster calibrations even in tight spaces.

Bosch says it is pursuing a technology-neutral approach to workshops, noting that combustion-engine vehicles will remain important for service while electrified-vehicle skills grow. For diesel service, the new DCP 800 test bench (Diagnostic Common-Rail Pump), presented in Frankfurt, accelerates testing of common-rail high-pressure pumps. Bosch is also comprehensively expanding its thermal management portfolio, offering more components from a single source for cooling and air-conditioning systems that span combustion engines and electric vehicles.

Beyond technology, Bosch highlighted partnerships. Its in-shop support concepts, Bosch Car Service and AutoCrew, combine modern workshop equipment, diagnostic software, training, technical information, and a strong international brand. For fleets, data-based services identify maintenance needs early, reduce downtime, and make service processes more predictable, strengthening competitiveness for fleets and independent shops. Bosch also said that, as an original equipment manufacturer, it brings new vehicle technologies to the aftermarket early and continuously extends its spare parts portfolio, including for commercial vehicles using ESI[tronic] Truck and Off-Highway.

In the aftermarket, sustainability is not decided by abstract concepts, but in the specific repair case. When we remanufacture components, extend vehicle life cycles and enable economically attractive repairs for vehicle owners, we conserve resources and, at the same time, create new business opportunities for repair shops. This is precisely the strength of the circular economy: It combines ecological responsibility with economic benefits for our partners in the market.
Carsten Kopp, member of the Bosch Mobility Aftermarket divisional board

Bosch presented the Bosch eXchange remanufacturing program and announced a strategic collaboration with PreZero at Automechanika intended to strengthen the circular economy and European material cycles. The partners aim to combine Bosch's diagnostics and remanufacturing expertise with PreZero's recyclable materials management and logistics, using data to decide whether components are suitable for reuse, remanufacturing, or recycling. In addition, Bosch Classic supports the maintenance of historic vehicles, including new spare parts for early ABS systems, and Bosch is celebrating 100 years of electric windshield wiper systems at the fair.

Why this matters

Independent repair shops are being squeezed by more complex vehicles, from EV powertrains to driver-assistance systems. Bosch's integrated offer is designed to keep those shops profitable by combining diagnostics, spare parts, training, and data-based fleet tools. The PreZero collaboration also points to a business model where remanufacturing and recycling create new revenue for workshops while conserving resources.
