What Happened
Wholesale dispatches expanded 17.84% compared with the previous year, achieving the manufacturer's peak monthly performance of 2026. Passenger model registrations accounted for 433,384 units, alongside 6,909 commercial electrified platforms.
All-electric powertrains drove the volume gains, delivering 256,230 passenger battery electric vehicles across the month. Plug-in hybrid dispatches remained largely flat at 177,154 units.
Export performance set another benchmark at 189,466 vehicles, representing an increase of 134.45% year-on-year. Mainland Chinese dispatches reached 250,827 units, reflecting a 14.34% reduction against the previous year.
Through eight completed months, cumulative volume reached 2,668,015 electrified vehicles. Export shipments over that window totaled 1,162,260 units, narrowing the group's full-year contraction to 6.8%.
Why this matters
International markets now represent more than 43% of BYD's total volume, insulating the manufacturer against ongoing pricing pressure within mainland China. Strong pure-electric momentum pushed monthly BEV volumes past a quarter-million units.
