What Happened
The new Tai 7 DM is available in two versions: a two-wheel-drive Max at RMB 195,800 and a four-wheel-drive Ultra at RMB 225,800. Their claimed electric ranges are 315 km and 300 km respectively.
Fang Cheng Bao says the SUV can travel more than 1,400 km with a full tank and battery. Its peak charge rate is now 158 kW, while the maker says the 30–80% charging window is 20% shorter than before.
The long-range version adds BYD's AI cabin, a 20-speaker Devialet system, YunNian-C damping control and the brand's advanced driver-assistance package. The wider Tai 7 family has passed 200,000 cumulative sales, according to the report.
Why this matters
The update broadens the Tai 7's appeal beyond buyers with easy charging access. BYD is using a larger electric buffer and faster charging to push a family SUV that still keeps the long-distance flexibility of a hybrid.
