BYD Shows Five-Seat Sealion 08 Cabin Before September 2 Launch
BYD has shown the five-seat cabin of its Sealion 08 ahead of the SUV's September 2 launch, adding a second seating layout to a BEV and PHEV range already open for reservations.

What Happened
BYD Ocean Series sales chief Zhang Zhuo presented the five-seat Sealion 08 cabin before the model's September 2 launch. The layout gives the rear passengers leg rests and adds a storage cabinet below the middle seat, while the previously shown version has six seats in a 2+2+2 arrangement.
The SUV measures 5,115 millimeters long and uses a 3,030-millimeter wheelbase. Its dashboard combines a floating center screen with a full digital instrument panel, and a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor supports the stated God’s Eye 5.0 assistance package.
The plug-in-hybrid version uses a 1.5-liter engine and is offered with one or two electric motors. The battery-electric range includes single-motor versions rated at 320 or 370 kilowatts, alongside a dual-motor model with a 215-kilowatt front motor and a 370-kilowatt rear motor.
Earlier filings list 92.093-kWh and 115.072-kWh BEV batteries, with stated CLTC ranges of 710, 800, and 900 kilometers. BYD has also listed fifth-generation DM technology, its second-generation Blade Battery, Flash Charging, rear-wheel steering, and road-preview suspension among the model's equipment.
