What Happened
The Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70, developed as a 70th birthday tribute to founder Joop Donkervoort, achieves more than 2G of lateral acceleration in corners on standard tyres. It also accelerates from a standstill at 1.02G and brakes at 1.65G deceleration on road-legal semi-slick tyres. Weighing under 700kg and producing 415bhp, it is the most powerful Donkervoort ever made.
“The JD70 has moved beyond the normal measures for acceleration, braking and cornering so we’re using G forces now. The car is a pure driver’s machine like nothing else on the market.”

Achieved in standard trim on standard tyres.
Deliveries are due to start next spring. Prices begin at €163,636.36 (before tax). Pre-orders have come from The Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, Luxembourg, and Lebanon. Only one car will be built for each of Joop Donkervoort's birthdays so far.
Why this matters
The JD70 sets a new benchmark for cornering grip, demonstrating extreme performance achievable with lightweight construction and modern engineering in a road-legal sports car.
