What Happened
Epicland is offering the X9 in three extended-range versions ahead of a planned third-quarter launch. The pre-sale band runs from RMB 299,800 to RMB 379,800.
At more than 5.3 metres long with a 3.12-metre wheelbase, the X9 pairs a 1.5-litre range extender with a 74.29-kWh battery and 420 kW of all-wheel-drive output. Epicland quotes 465 km of CLTC electric range and over 1,500 km when the battery and fuel tank are combined.
An 800-volt system is designed to move the battery from 20% to 80% in 10 minutes. Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 handles assisted driving, while the X9's 5.1-second claimed 0–100 kph time gives the large family SUV a performance angle.
Why this matters
The X9 is the first vehicle from a new Dongfeng-Huawei brand aimed at China's premium family market. Its pitch combines a large six-seat body with long electric range, fast charging and Huawei's driver-assistance stack.
