What Happened
The French GP at Lacapelle Marival proved tough due to high temperatures and a tricky track. Forato overcame a first-race tip-over to finish 15th in race 1, then rebounded to eighth in race 2 for a 10th overall finish. Teammate Brent Van doninck suffered a first-turn crash in race 2 but fought back to 17th.
In EMX125, Gennaro Utech finished fifth in both races and was promoted to fourth overall after a penalty for teammate Bertram Thorius. Thorius initially finished third in race 2 but received a 10-place penalty for not slowing under yellow flags, dropping him to 13th.
“We turned the weekend around with a good second race. I got a decent start and managed to avoid the chaos in the first corner. With P8 in the race and 10th overall, I can be quite happy, considering how the weekend started.”
Why this matters
The results highlight Fantic's competitiveness in the Motocross World Championship, with Utech achieving his best result of the season and Forato showing resilience after a difficult start.
