What Happened

Kawasaki Heavy Industries announced the delivery of the AURORA GUARDIAN, an 86,700 m³ liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia (NH3) carrier powered by LPG fuel, to KUMIAI NAVIGATION (PTE) LTD. This is the twelfth of Kawasaki's newest-design 86,700 m³ LPG-fueled LPG/NH3 carriers, the nineteenth LPG-propelled vessel Kawasaki has completed, and its eighty-second LPG carrier overall. The carrier has separate cargo tanks to simultaneously transport LPG and ammonia, and its dimensions allow it to berth at major LPG terminals worldwide.

  • Concept design approved for future ammonia fuel use, enabling modification to run on ammonia.
